Assumptions are the death of a relationship. If you think you know what’s going on inside someone else’s head, think again. We imagine that love gives us the power to read one another’s mind, when all we are really doing is reading our own. It’s a great self-defense mechanism but no substitute for actual communication. The very best way to know what’s really on someone’s mind is also the riskiest: you have to ask them.

Fiction books are best held and felt in the smooth printed pages of a book. It’s a tactical thing. You can smell the newsprint and bounding of the pages. All this connects you deeper into the novel and activates your imagination in a way that electronic books cannot do. Don’t get me wrong, reading is reading and it’s all good.
Sometimes I don’t feel like talking. I’d rather just post pretty pictures on Tumblr and sit by the fireplace sipping hot tea or coffee.
Amazon Publishing books won't be found at Barnes & Noble
I would like to say good for them (B&N), but once again are they trying to run their company into the ground??? Barnes and Noble needs a new CEO that understands book buyers and a passion for keeping the doors open. Charles Montgomery Barnes would not be happy!
“Barnes & Noble has made a decision not to stock Amazon published titles in our store showrooms. Our decision is based on Amazon’s continued push for exclusivity with publishers, agents and the authors they represent. These exclusives have prohibited us from offering certain eBooks to our customers,” Carey wrote. In addition to exclusive deals Amazon has announced with specific authors, in December it launched KDP Select, a way for authors to participate in an unusually structured Kindle lending library and payment pool, as long as their e-books remained exclusive to Amazon.”
Barnes & Noble considering selling Nook business
What is up with stupid CEO’s running their companies into the ground? Do not hire a CEO that does not under stand their customer base. Borders CEOs did not understand the book buyer and now neither does Barnes and Noble. There use to be six bookstores within driving distance and now their is ONE! End of Rant.

Friday the 13TH Rant
Some days, no matter how hard you try or how much you care, just take a turn for the worse. Positive thinking can only go so far when you have to deal with other people’s stuff.
What I don’t get is how a person can be polite and considerate to a stranger and not show the same to someone that has their back!
Why is it that a person can express compassion for someone they barely know and not offer any compassion to someone that loves them?
Why is it that some people feel comfortable unleashing nasty behavior to the very people that love them?
Is this any way to start off the year, biting the hand that loves you?
Is it true, that we can only truly hurt the people that love us the most?
Sad, mad, hurt and angry!
Not taking this crap from anyone, anymore! Absolutely, had it with being a punching bag for other peoples stuff. Seeing it from their perspective, trying to give them what they need in the way they need it. Yep, that’s what keeps getting me on to the doormat, not watching my own back. Been a whole week of this crap from everyone. What the hell?
Is something in the water, something in the air, or is this just hate on me week?
